| What to do for Boosting Metabolic Rate
The main goal of your weight loss plan ought to be not merely upon a more superficial look into the mirror but the improvement of your health and well-being!
And we all know that to lose weight fast you have to boost your metabolic rate. And there is no better than good exercise program to do so.
However, seems like the main weakness of many weight loss programs, even the good ones, is that they do not stress the importance of exercise. In fact: you CANNOT lose weight effectively without exercise and you CANNOT be healthy without exercise!
Why Put Variety in Your Exercising Program
A very effective tool regarding to weight loss is the manipulation of the metabolic rate. This rate does vary between individuals and even within a single individual from time to time. Although, size and age are important factors, yet another very important factor that influences your metabolic rate is your physical condition.
A different and simpler way of looking at this is in the understanding that the human body is an amazing and remarkably adaptive design. Push the body to habitually utilize more oxygen, push the body to habituate to burning energy at greater levels and the body will adapt to do so.
What this all adds up to is the ability to increase the metabolic rate.
The idea is that even a small increase in the hourly rate of caloric expenditure will add up in time to real and permanent weight loss.
So, said all that, you can get the most of your efforts if you vary your exercise program. You know the saying: “Variety is the spice of life” and this is certainly quite true.
However, unfortunately despite of awareness, too many people ignore this simple truth and don’t spice up their exercise program. Frankly, this is quite surprising, since doing so often offers so many valuable metabolism-boosting benefits.
How to add Variety to your Exercise Program
To add variety to your exercise program you can use a few easy ways though. IN previous article we’ve already talked about high intensity interval training and that is indeed most powerful way to shift your metabolic rate into higher gear.
There some other easy yet effective ways to do so if you break up a longer routine into smaller parts. For example, you can get much better metabolism-boosting results if you instead of committing to 1×1 hour workout a day, split this up into 2×30 minute workouts. Want even better results? Split it to 3×20 minute workouts.
The best part is that it doesn’t stop there. If you make simple changes in your everyday habits you can successfully add variety into your daily exercise routine without formally exercising.
Want a simple example? I know you lake most of us use the elevator. So, take the stairs instead of the elevator and you added variety into your exercising program.
Want another one? What about starting your day with a brisk walk instead of a coffee and the newspaper?
Better yet, instead of driving to the closest grocery store entrance, take a walk or if this is too much to ask then just walk the distance between a far away parking spot and the entrance.
These simple tips provide effective metabolism-boosting benefits without you even did exercised.
* Firstly, as you can see, this can make exercising more fun. While, indeed, it’s important to have an exercise routine, you make sure you don’t have a boring exercise routine as then stopping can be much more fun!
So now when you see why have to add these new elements into your overall exercise routine and stick with the program you can be more creative and add more new elements boosting your metabolism. Any technique or tip that helps you continue exercising over the long term is a wise piece of advice.
* The second important benefit of variety in your exercise program leads you back to the interval training concept, discussed in the previous article. Your body cannot get into a groove when you’re doing variety of workouts.
Remember: the body is a remarkable piece of work, and will always strive to do things efficiently.
A NOTE OF CAUTION: If you are very overweight or over forty, use a healthy dose of common sense. Please don’t kill yourself!!!! If you are much older, you might consult a doctor before beginning a strenuous program.
Even if you are younger, and in fair shape gradually work up to this over a few weeks time. At least in the first few weeks, don’t push too hard! This program will SURELY work if you follow it correctly, but please don’t go overboard and kill yourself trying to drop a few pounds!
The #1 goal should always be good health. This is well above that of looking good in a mirror!
Actually, when you take good care of yourself, through good exercise, proper diet and other healthy habits; everything should fall into place. You will be healthy, feel more energetic, look better, sexier, think clearer, and have a happier life – the subject of a future article! |
