A Final Word About Fat Loss and Metabolism

There is a common myth that muscle weighs more than fat, but it doesn’t. Five pounds of muscle weighs just about the same as five pounds of fat, the only difference is that fat is far bulkier than muscle.

Therefore, if you are carrying too much fat, not only you will look ‘lumpy’ but carrying too much fat increases the risk to your general health and well being.

When it comes to shedding fat, getting you as lean, fit and well as possible, there’s a nasty rumor floating around out there that fat cells are permanent. Unfortunately, the nastiest thing about this rumor is that it’s absolutely true.

Yes experts approved that fat cells once created are there for life. However, this still doesn’t spell doom and gloom to those lucky ones among us who wish to drop a few pounds.

Although fitness and weight loss experts believe that fat cells are permanent, yet, they agree that the number of fat cells in the body can be shrunk. Simply put, even with the same absolute number of fat cells in your body, you can reduce their size and even their appearance and percentage of your overall weight.

I think there is no need to go into any medical detail because if you read the articles here we really don’t need to do so as we have covered key basics of metabolism. As a matter of fact, you perhaps know as much about metabolism now as many so-called experts.

In the nutshell metabolism represents a complicated system of countless processes, which converts food we eat into energy.

Anabolism is creating new cells at the end of the process and when this process breaks cells down, it’s called catabolism.

It’s only reasonable to ask: which of these two is best for one who want lose weight fast?

And the answer is simple: people, who are trying to lose weight, have to boost catabolic process — catabolism. That is, it’s important convert food into energy that is used to break cells down.

Experiencing Catabolism is also important also because of another health benefit: it prevents from excess calories being stored by the body.

Keep in mind that when your body has too many calories, regardless of what food source those calories came from, it can only do two of the follows:

  1. The body will try to identify if you have any extended energy needs such as exercising or other physical activity
  2. Or, what commonly happens, the calories will be stored as fat. The body is preprogrammed to do so and it has no other choice. Unless… you have lean muscle that is gobbling up those excess calories, you’ll be adding fat.

So, be clear about this. Here you’ll learn about losing fat naturally, but if you want to replace that fat with muscle that is fine also. Since what I am essentially focused on here is your health, well being and fitness I’m going to point you in the opposite direction.

You’ll learn various techniques, tips, and strategies to boost your metabolism and additionally you’ll be introduced to some metabolism-boosting foods that you’ll surely want to add to your regular eating regimen.
